Michael's Home!!!

I know it's been quite awhile since I've updated the blog, but no news is good news, as they say. Michael is home and doing great! We got the OK to leave the NICU a week ago Sunday, just one day short of six weeks. Needless to say, I am very tired and I feel like a dairy cow!!! But I'm a happy and content dairy cow:) Michael was weighed this morning and is really "packing on the ounces"; he's up to 6lb, 3oz!

It is so good to have him home! Although we are still on NICU rules, in that he is on a monitor and we have to be overprotective as far as outside contact, we feel so blessed and thankful to have him here with us, instead of across town at Memorial. One day blurs into the next, as AJ and I establish a routine. But I never tire of just looking at him with awe. To think how far he's come in such a relatively short time, I realize that life doesn't stand still and I feel the need to take it all in and savor every moment.

I will be posting more pictures later this week, as time permits, so that's it for now.

  2. What wonderful news that he is home. So happy to hear that. Good luck with the routine, but that is the best thing you can do for a baby. Mine is 4-1/2 and still on a routine- none of us would survive without it.
Take care of yourself and Michael.
